Coolsculpting and varicose veins, is it safe?

Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting® is a common fat reduction treatment and many people with varicose veins have safely had the procedure done without any issues. It is unlikely that CoolSculpting® treatments would affect your varicose veins. However, there is a small chance that any cooling of the leg could increase your risk of deep vein phlebitis. Therefore, if you have concerns, I recommend getting clearance from a vein specialist first.

Varicose viens are not a problem usually, although we had one patient who complained of more eating for a week. It is always wise to ask your vascular doctor also. Beware of buttock drop in the banana fold ( unlikely to occur ) and check for abdominal hernia ( best checked by a doctor ) .

There is no contraindication to CoolSculpting with varicose veins. The venous structures in the legs and the fatty tissue in the abdomen where you do not see them are both perfectly safe with this procedure. Best of luck!

CoolSculpting won't affect or be affected by varicose veins.  The varicose veins are too far removed from the treatment area to be bothered by the treatment.  So rest assured that you can get CoolSculpting without encountering any problems related to your varicose veins.

Coolsculpting done on your abdomen should have no effect (and vice versa) on your varicose veins in your legs.  Coolsculpting is only effecting the fat cells in the treated area and nothing else.  It is a very safe and effective treatment.  As long as you don't have an umbilical hernia in the area being treated, you'll be just fine.  Treatment on your thighs/banana roll should not be a problem either. (Though, aesthetically, be careful with the banana roll so the shape of your buttocks do not change or fall)
