Will going under general anesthesia with a Chronic Kidney Condition (Bartter Syndrome) be safe?

If your nephrologist says it is safe to have a general anesthetic then it is safe to have a general anesthetic. In our practice we would require a written clearance letter from the nephrologist and have them outline the specific monitoring required, whether inpatient or just daily outpatient lab draws, and whether they would monitor or want us to monitor. Also we would check potassium and kidney function tests a few weeks prior to surgery and again a few days before surgery. Best of luck with your procedure.

I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

The real question here is not about rhinoplasty but whether not it is safe. Rhinoplasty in and of itself is an extremely safe procedure with low risk and great patient's satisfaction. If you were my patient in Boca Raton Florida the 1st thing I would do is discuss this with your nephrologist and M at the evaluate you for appropriateness of the surgery. If he or she feels it is safe to do and I would probably recommend doing it in the hospital as a 23 hour stay so that her potassium skin be monitored as opposed to the office where would be more difficult to do so. The key is to speak tear nephrologist and find out what he would like you to do if you decide to go ahead with the surgery and coordinated with your plastic surgeon.
