Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Thanks for your question and posting a picture.  The dark spot looks and sounds like you have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).After a personal consultation, we would probably recommend the PicoSure Laser with the FOCUS and or Flat Lens for pigment and texture correction.  PicoSure is one of the gentlest treatments with very good results and is safe for all skin types.  Depending on the severity of the pigment and scars, it will probably take 3 to 6 treatments.  Look for brand names like ICON or Fraxel.  Best of luck.
