Hello, i recently went for consultation regarding Miradry, the specialist analyzed both of my armpits. Told me since my armpits were concave and not too flat the procedure might be difficult to perform. He suggested I will have to change my hand position while doing the procedure so the suction lays flat on my armpit. Videos I seen had people with flat armpits. Thank you.
Answer: In the pits The miraDry treatment is more EASILY performed on a flat underarm with more subcutaneous fat, however proper positioning you should be able to be treated. In very extreme cases we could inject extra saline into the area to plump up the tissue in order to create the proper suction. One thing that is more common with a concave underarm is the side effects of swelling and bruising may be more apparent to you. Hope this helps, miraDry is a great treatment that changes a lot of people's lives.

Answer: Shape of Your Armpit for MiraDry (for Hyperhydrosis, Excessive Sweating) It’s generally true that for Miradry to work, you need a relative flat treatment surface because the need to create a suction vacuum seal during the treatment. We have worked with our patients on different arm positions in order to achieve a flatter treatment surface. I am not sure if you have any arm range of motion limitation or significant uneven surfaces of armpits. Perhaps a photo of your armpit may be helpful to clarify this issue.Sincerely, Stewart Wang, MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic SurgeonMedical Director, Wang Plastic Surgery & Med Spa

Answer: MiraDry Thank you for your question. The MiraDry procedure can be a little tricky if you have very concave armpits. When the local anaesthetic is injected into the area it can help to flatten out the armpit which improves the contact with the machine. You may need to change position during the treatment. I'm sure your practitioner would let you know whether or not you are suitable for the treatment.

Answer: MiraDry anesthesia The procedure can be done nonetheless, especially if he uses a tumescent approach which will automatically flatten out the armpit as the large volume of anesthesia is injected. Never had a problem with this! Good luck!!

Answer: Concaved armpits It may require a differant angle of the device by the operator and the patient. The anesthic fluid more than likely will fill the deeper spaces so that suction can be achieved.
