After miradry, recovery was as expected and I iced it, and didn’t do much activity. However, my left arm had started developing a large lump that looked like a black head. It popped and won’t stop pouring out excessive fluid, like a pimple. Is this normal? I don’t have a fever, arms feel fine. I’m just conerned with the oozing pus and hole in my underarm.

Answer: Miradry and drainage Thank you for your question. This is very unusual. Without an exam it is not possible to say what is going on. Without fevers or increasing soreness in the area it doesn't seem like an infection and may resolve on its own but I would suggest getting back in to see the provider to get a better idea what is going on.Jeffrey Thaxton, MD FACSCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Infection? If it is oozing pus then it seems you got an infection. Go to your physician today if possible. You may need further opening of the area or antibiotics.
