Is a hole leaking fluid after miraDry normal?

Question

After miradry, recovery was as expected and I iced it, and didn’t do much activity. However, my left arm had started developing a large lump that looked like a black head. It popped and won’t stop pouring out excessive fluid, like a pimple. Is this normal? I don’t have a fever, arms feel fine. I’m just conerned with the oozing pus and hole in my underarm.

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are experiencing this issue after MiraDry. It is not a common occurrence, and without examining the area it sounds as if you may have had a surface burn of the skin and/or an infection. I would contact your provider so they can evaluate the area and provide any necessary treatment. Good luck!

Thank you for your question.It is unusual  for this to happen after a MiraDry procedure. I would recommend that you have it looked at, you may require antibiotics.

Your experience post miraDry is not normal and would be best addressed by direct examination. From your description it sounds like you may be experiencing the early stages of an infection. Tenderness and fevers may appear if left untreated.

If it is oozing pus then it seems you got an infection. Go to your physician today if possible. You may need further opening of the area or antibiotics.
