I was told Botox in that area is normally not a good idea. Plus are there any side affects?
Answer: Not FDA-Approved Hi! Unfortunately, miraDry has not yet received FDA approval for use anywhere except the underarm (axilla) area. The company is working on getting approval for additional areas, but for now underarms are it. I also would not recommend Botox in the groin area, but instead would recommend that you schedule an appointment with your local dermatologist to discuss topical treatments options. Good luck!

Answer: MiraDry® is only FDA-approved for underarm sweating. Hello. Unfortunately, miraDry is not currently approved for treating hyperhidrosis in areas other than your underarms. It is possible to use BOTOX® to help relieve excessive sweating in larger areas like the groin, but keep in mind that you will need to schedule regular appointments every several months. I would recommend sitting down with a cosmetic surgeon or two with experience performing this specific treatment to get a better idea of whether or not it might be the right solution for you. Good luck!

Answer: Excessive sweating Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, MiraDry is not yet FDA approved for other areas than the underarms, but hopefully someday it will be. Sorry you are experiencing severe sweating in the groin area. After MiraDry in the armpits, patients have swelling and tenderness for a few weeks, but that gradually decreases, and is a true miracle for patients with underarm sweating problems. I hope someday we will be able to safely treat the groin area, and the company is surely working on other applications for the wonderful treatment. In the meantime, ask your dermatologist about topical anti-sweating preparations that can be used occasionally but have a risk of irritation, keep the area as cool and dry as possible, and I would also avoid Botox in the groin area. Good luck!
