I had my breast augmentation 2 and a half weeks ago and when I lift my right arm I get a really bad burning sensation it feels like my skin is ripping apart. Is that normal and will it go away?

Answer: Breast augmentation early post op, some advices: Thank you very much for this enquire. In my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry heavy weights to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Pain In Armpit After A Breast Augmentation - Is This Normal? Thank you for your question. I am going to have to make certain assumptions to give you a specific answer. I am going to assume you had your breast augmentation through the armpit, and probably underneath the muscle. If this is true, then you may have clotted lymphatic vessels that stretch from your armpit all the way down to your wrists, and there is also very often scar tissue in your armpit as well. Lifting your arm tugs on these scars and clotted vessels, and very often gives a tight searing feeling. The good news is this always goes away. At this point, I think it would be appropriate to speak to your plastic surgeon. He or she may have specific paradigms for stretching the armpit tissue which will then allow it to loosen which, of course, alleviates the tight searing pain.
