Hi. True granulomas are quite rare after HA gel injections, such as Juvederm or Voluma. Lumps that are not granulomas are much more common. These may need time & massage to settle in, if the injections are recent. Otherwise, you may want to return to your injector and have the HA lumps dissolved with hyaluronidase. This should improve your situation.
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase and RF treatments such as exilis ultra or venus legacy can help to soften the area. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you foryour question hkingsley2. I understand your concern. Juvederm is afiller used to restore lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. It is difficult to make an assessment without a formal exam and without knowing when the treatment was performed. Lumps and bumps are normal for 2 weeks after a treatment and massage helps to smoothen them out. Granulomas can be treated by dissolving the product. Pleaseconsult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
If your injections were recent (within the last couple of weeks), these are normal and may be improved with some massage. If not recent then schedule an appointment with your injector to discuss having the filler dissolved. However, keep in mind that it can take as much if not more skill to dissolve filler than to place it. Best of luck.
most doctors use different technique in injection fillers. It is possible that your doctor used bolus injections with the filler and you may possibly feel the lumps Under the Skin. As long as the lumps are not visible, you have no discomfort and your result is pleasing, you should leave it alone. If on the other hand you see and feel the lumps under the skin or there is discomfort, you should definitely return to the treating physician and let him or her resolve this issue. Good luck from New York City
Thank you for your question. Are you sure these are granulomas and not something else like biofilm formation? If certain the appropriate next steps would be to dissolve with hyaluronidase and use some sort of deep heating technology like Venus to dissolve the granulomas. Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
Hello hkingsley2,Thank you for your question. It is not common to develop granulomas after the injection of hyluronic acids. In the event that hyluronic acid injections are placed improperly then you can have these injections dissolved using hyluronidase. This is a simple procedure and you will notice the resolution of the hyluronic acid within 24-48 hours. However since it is uncommon to develop granulomas please contact your injector and make sure that it was hyluronic acid that was injected as well as being evaluated for a possible post injection infection. Good luck.
Your problem can be helped by injection of hyaluronidase which will get rid of the filler. This and time will solve your problem. Be sure and see a boarded plastic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
Thank you for your question willjmarlon. I understand your concern. Juvederm is a filler used to restore lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. Juvederm placed in the tear trough is not associated with dryness in the eyes. This is likely a coincidence and may be due to allergies ...
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to give you advice without examining you in person. However, it is very concerning that you have recurring swelling and this could be a sign of infection or an adverse reaction to the filler. I recommend having a follow up with your injector right...
Thank you for your question. It is unlikely that your Juvederm is responsible for heart palpitations or your other symptoms. I would recommend that you go to the emergency room if your symptoms persist, as these could be signs of a serious medical issue.
