Can Juvederm fillers cause dry eyes?

Question

I had Juvederm injections in my tear troughs about 5 days ago. Is it normal to have dry eyes and will Juvederm affect my eyes/sight since it's been injected in my tear troughs? Other than dryness my eyes are fine!

It is unlikely that the dryness you're experiencing is related to your injection. Keep in mind, it will take 1-2 weeks for final results with Juvederm. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question.The dry eyes you experiencing should not have anything to do with your injection. The injections do not effect the tear ducts. Do you have allergies or has the weather changed recently in your area? If your symptoms persists, I would contact your injector to be evaluated in person. Good luck.

filler used to restore lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. Juvederm placed in the tear trough is not associated with dryness in the eyes. This is likely a coincidence and may be due to allergies or something else. Please

No. Fillers do not cause dry eyes. In terms of blindness, extremely rare and at 5 days out, you should be in the clear. My guess is that your dry eyes are due to allergies. Tis the season. Best of luck.
