Hyperpigmentation after microneedling treatment? (Photo)

6 months ago I had microneedling treatment on my hips to get rid of stretch marks. Now, it is worse that before due to the hiperpigmentation on the area. What can I do to get rid of the hiperpigmentation and the stretch marks as well? Is this reaction normal? I was told that I needed a second treatment but they charged $400 is that really necessary? I'm afraid of getting even worse.

I suggest enzymatic exfoliation starting day 1 after microneedling to all my patients. I am not a fan of facial brushes for most patients , this is based on your skin care regimen and if you do masks, retinol, peels .  I suggest spekaing to your cosmetic dermatologist.  Best, Dr. Emer.

First off, microneedling doesnt help pitted ice pick type scars --- these respond best to punch excision, TCA cross or a combination.  Second off, acne scarring requires a combination approach of lasers, needling, and fillers.  I suggest you only see a board certified dermatologist who...

Microneedling depth has not been studied.  I do on my self 0.5-0.75mm every few weeks and my skin looks amazing.  post laser i do microneedling and am more conservative than when someone comes in for a monthly or few times a year treatment.  It all is based on the condition being...

There is no comparison between these procedures. I do them together to get even better results and do microneedling between laser treatments for rejuvenation and long term maintenance.  I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist with expertise in combination treatments.  Best, Dr. Emer.
