I've always hated the way the lower half of my face looks when smiling. I get these dents on my cheeks/corners of mouth and on my chin. I've had them for many years. I'm an 18 year old woman. Is this something that could be lessened with weight loss? My face is a little chubby and I thought that might be the issue, but even when I was 15 pounds lighter, I still had this issue. Would fillers help? I really hate my smile, please help!
Answer: Dimples with smiling What you see is where your muscle connects to the skin. You can try fillers, but it’s extremely unlikely to give you the look you are going for, and it’s risky for looking lumpy or odd. I suggest doing nothing, but if you do try filler make sure it is a soft hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane Refyne because it is soft and subtle and since it can be dissolved if you don’t like it.

Answer: Laugh Lines / Nasolabial Folds - Fillers + Sculptra, Lasers like Fraxel/Clear + Brilliant, Radiofrequency, Peels, Skin Care I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting, and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. I suggest seeing a facial sculpting expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Best Injectable Fillers....Dents/dimples/lines near my mouth when smiling? What can I do to fix this? (photos) Hi Intuitive,I would treat your concerns with Restylane Defyne which is a great filler that incorporates naturally with your facial expressions. Make sure to choose your injecting physician carefully as fillers are not a "commodity", rather their placement is an art. Choose your doctor based on their skill, experience, care, knowledge, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA

Answer: Smile lines/dimples Hi,The muscles that pull the corners of the mouth up attach to the underside of the skin in those areas and cause dimpling when you smile. It is completely normal and trying to "fix" them with fillers often lead to fullness and an unnatural appearance at rest. You have nice lips and a pretty smile, no need to do anything.Best,

Answer: Dimples It's true - some people really want to have dimples added! They do really look great on you and do not in any way age your face or detract from it. Other people are far more likely to view your dimple with envy rather than how you see them yourself right now.
