When I was 5-6 years old, I underwent surgery due to appendicitis. When I stand up straight, you can clearly see the scar's depth, and as I bend over the depth of the scar exaggerates. What isn't bothering me is the skin tone and color of the scar, it is the depth of the scar. I exercise daily and work in construction, so at one point I was pretty low in body fat. I feel as if it is sewed into my abdomen, so my fat cannot evenly distribute itself. What surgery do I undergo to remove this depth?

To determine which of the
two apply (keloid or hypertrophic scar), I would recommend you visit a
qualified dermatologist in your area for an in-person evaluation. Often what
patients consider keloids are hypertrophic scars. A keloid behaves like a benign
tumor that grows beyond the wound...
Depending on the type of scar, you may need to have the scar removed. Perhaps cortisone injections and a different laser such as Fraxel can remedy your condition.
Scars are difficult to treat. The area has very little skin and pulls very easily. Unfortunately there is little to do to revise the scar in this area.
