Hi, I am located in the Santa Maria/Lompoc area of California and I am looking for a doctor to surgically remove a keloid I have. I am willing to drive 1-3 hours out. I have went through the the steroid injections and those have not worked. I really want it gone, it's very uncomfortable. Any advice or help us greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Although each individual heals at a different rate, the steadfast rule of thumb for duration of most of post operative swelling is generally 6 weeks. After the 1st 3 days or so ice will not help the swelling anymore.
Dark scars respond well to Plato's Dark Scar Corrector. Fractional lasers may also help improve surface texture of some scars. Our office specializes in scar revision and we would recommend a specific scar treatment protocol to help your scars. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Insurance policies vary. Our office is specializes in scar treatments and some scars are covered by some insurance policies. An appointment would help identify whether this is the case. Raffy Karamanoukian MD FACS
