I’m 29 years old and has 34 units of Botox in my forehead, Crows feet and 11s. I’ve been reading horror stories that that botox in my crows feet is going to cause me to have large sunken hollows under my eyes! Also, I’ve been getting Botox since I️ was 25 years old and people are saying I’m Going to get forehead muscle atrophy. Is this correct?
Answer: Botox Hello, and thank you for your question. This seems like a typical dose for your age, especially if all three areas were treated. Also, the Botox will not cause sunken areas under your eyes.

Answer: Botox Treatment Thank you for the question. 34 units is typically not out of the normal threshold to encompass the 11s and the crows feet. Some people require 20-30 units just near the 11s (Glabellar area). Each eye can require 6-12 units for the crows feet depending on the patient. It is all based on a case by case dosage requirement to relax the muscle. The muscles will not atrophy away, but they will get weaker over time as you repeatedly inhibit them with the neurotoxin. You should not have any sunken hollows related to botox use.

Answer: Botox Good question. I would say most people with average facial musculature take about 30 to 40 units of Botox for a complete upper face treatment. Depending on how strong your muscles are and how much resultant movement you want will also change the number of units you will need.

Answer: Is 34 units of Botox too much? Thank you for sharing your question. Though Botox dosing needs to be tailored to each patient’s sensitivity for the medication, 34 units over the three areas is not a large amount. If you are happy with the results then that is all that matters. Botox will not cause hollowness of your eyes but it can cause some muscle atrophy in the forehead which does not cause a significant cosmetic change since the muscle is already thin. Address your concerns with your injector.

Answer: Botox 34 units of Botox for the frown lines, crows feet, and forehead is reasonable. Botox in your crows feet should not cause you to have sunken hollows under your eyes- it simply weakens the muscle around your eyes so you have less lines around the outside corner of your eyes when you smile or squint. Long term Botox of your forehead can lead to generalized diminution of your forehead muscles simply due to you not using them as much. The forehead muscles (frontalis) elevate your eyebrows and cause the the horizontal lines across your forehead, so diminution or weakness of this muscle may not necessarily be a bad thing if your goal is to lessen the appearance of your forehead lines.
