Is there a dermal filler for actual dents in my skull? (Photo)

Question

I have three divots/dents/dimples in my skull from emergency brain surgery and I'm bald. It looks horrible if you stare at them but, hey, I'm alive. I'm having a difficult time understanding why it's so difficult to "fill" these dime sized dents in. I don't mind being bald because I'm 6'1", 235 lbs and I carry myself well. However, I am conscious about the dents and I'm tired of answering questions about them. Suggestions?

Although photos are never a substitute for an in-person examination that allows for palpation and manipulation of the tissues, it does appear that these dents are potentially amenable to a couple of simple treatment options within the skin overlying the bony depressions. These include the use of an injectable volumizing fillers, such as Radiesse or Voluma XC coupled with the use of subcision, a simple in-office technique that allows for "splicing" any fibrous tethering bands that may be holding these three sites down, as well as promoting new, native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis, which, in turn, can lead to more long-lasting in improvements in appearance. You would be wise to seek consultation and treatment with a board certified aesthetic physician with not only experience and expertise in the use of injectable fillers, but in the performance of subcision. I agree with Dr Novick. I would subcise and then try to inject saline. If areas fill well with saline then they should do well with a filler. I would be sure to use an experienced dermatologist as this is simple when one has done a lot of this before but it is not just a stick and fill procedure.

Many fillers would do the job but I still would recommend that you have autologous fat grafting as it will produce natural and permanent results. Make sure you go to a plastic surgeon with lots of experience in fat grafting as well as good results. Good luck from New York City plastic surgery
