Should I use ice packs/compresses after Vbeam to reduce swelling?

Can using these cause further increase in swelling or does it actually help reduce, finding mixed reviews on this online. Thanks!

Thanks for the question. Ice packs and cool compresses can be very helpful for reducing swelling after a Vbeam treatment and for addressing minor soreness that often accompanies the swelling. This side effect should not last more than a couple of weeks - if it lasts longer or you experience other troublesome symptoms, contact your doctor. You can also discuss side effects with your doctor before your next session to see if your settings need to be adjusted to ensure the recovery after treatment is more comfortable.

Very good question. Ice is always a good option for managing swelling, including the side effects you might experience after a Vbeam treatment. You can also keep your head elevated when you lie down for the first few days. Rest assured that side effects typically only last a few days, so you won’t be dealing with them for very long.

Yes, ice packs could help to reduce swelling after a Vbeam treatment.  In general, cooling a swollen area will normally reduce swelling.

Yes, you certainly can. Monitor the duration of the swelling and discuss with your doctor at the next treatment. Modifying the settings may help. It's also been suggested that such swelling may be triggered by histamine release and antihistamines can, hence, be useful.
