Is Vbeam laser swelling from test patch normal?

It has been 5 days since I had a test patch w/ the Vbeam perfecta done on bottom of cheek. She did 3 pulses. I woke up next morning w/ it swollen like a mosquito bite. I guess you would say it looks like a welt. It took until day 3 before it started to go down at all but day 4 & 5 it hasn't went down anymore. Should a test patch stay swollen this long? What should I do?

Thank you for your question. It is quite common to experience some swelling after Vbeam. Make sure you are working with a board-certified dermatologist with extensive experience in using this device. Keep in mind that if you move forward with the treatment, you will experience more swelling. Swelling should be temporary and subside without intervention within a week or two. Your doctor will have instructions to help you minimize the side effects after your procedure.
