I had lower body lift and spiral thigh lift 10 days ago. All is going well but I'm wondering when the pulling around my thighs with ease up? It feels like I have elastic band around them.
Answer: Banding around the thighs 10 days post "spiral" vertical #ThighLift: is this normal? Thank you for your questions. It would be helpful to us to see a few pictures if possible. It is common to get some bandings post op after a vertical (spiral) thigh lift. A spiral thigh lift is a slight modification of the vertical thigh lift. We can also see bandings after full arm brachioplasty for the same reasons. This is normally due to edema and a relatively tight closure. As the swelling (edema) resolves and the skin stretches slighlty, the banding normally disappears.Be reassured. You seem to be healing normally.Let us know if this information was useful. Best regards, Dr. Marc DuPéré, Toronto aesthetic plastic surgeon and body surgeon

Answer: Post-Operative Healing After Lower Body Lift and Spiral Thigh Lift Thank you for reaching out with your question about the duration of pulling and tightness after undergoing a lower body lift and spiral thigh lift 10 days ago. It's important to recognize that healing is a highly individualized process, and each patient experiences it differently. The sensation of tightness around the thighs that you're currently experiencing is a normal part of the healing process. This feeling is due to the skin and soft tissues reattaching to the underlying structures, which is essential for achieving the desired outcome of the spiral thigh lift. While you can expect some of this tightness to gradually ease as the scar tissue forms and matures, it's crucial that it doesn't diminish too much to maintain the effectiveness of the lift. Swelling can also contribute to the sensation of tightness, and it's typical for this to subside over 6 to 8 weeks following a body lift and spiral thigh lift. I encourage you to maintain open communication with your plastic surgeon and continue to ask questions specific to your case. They are best equipped to provide guidance and reassurance based on your individual healing journey. Experiencing pulling and tightness 10 days post-procedure is completely normal, and with time, these sensations should gradually decrease as your body heals. I hope this information offers some reassurance and answers your questions regarding the post-operative sensations after your lower body lift and spiral thigh lift. Good luck, and please do not hesitate to reach out for any further assistance or clarification. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Thigh Lift Recovery My experience is that a solid 2-3 weeks is needed before you start feeling less tight after a thigh lift. By that time the you can expect that pulling sensation to persist. One of the things I recommend is a toilet seat extender - my patients tell me it makes a huge difference until things loosen up a bit.Good Luck!

Answer: Tightness after Thighlift Thank you for your question. You are 10 days post-op from the thigh lift, so you are very early in the healing process. The tightness you are feeling is very common and can take months before it is gone completely. The more skin that is removed, the more pulling you will feel. The pulling sensation is from tightening the skin and swelling after surgery, it can almost limit your range of motion in your legs. Over the next couple weeks you notice it decrease each week. Good luck with your recovery.
