New ankle and foot bruising/swelling after bilateral thigh liposuction 10 days ago. Is this normal? (photos)

hello mclarens  Most swelling and bruising will heal in the first 2 weeks, but can persist for up to 6-8 weeks. Patients are usually instructed to wear elastic compression garments after the surgery, the period of time will be advised by the doctor. You should visit or contact your PS about this concern. #post-op #swelling

Swelling and/or bruising can be typical after liposuction and will settle in the lower extremities due to gravity. However, I recommend following up with your Doctor about the new swelling and after care recommendations. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Leg swelling after surgery may be normal or may be something
more significant.
If the swelling is in both legs and is even, then it is probably normal,
especially after liposuction of the legs.If the swelling is uneven or only on one side, we need to make sure that
you have not formed a blood clot in one of the veins. This is most common after
tummy tucks.
Either way, I suggest that people contact their surgeon
with any unexpected changes in condition, especially new swelling.
