Inflammation and swelling expected following each Kybella treatment. We do often find that swelling is slightly less with each subsequent treatment, though swelling cannot be avoided entirely. With each treatment, there is less fat for the Kybella to target which typically results in slightly less swelling. This is a generalization in my experience with Kybella but is not always the case. Consult with your board certified plastic surgeon or injector before pursuing Kybella to ensure this is the right treatment option for you.
Typically our patients report less discomfort and swelling following the initial treatment with Kybella. Patience is a must with Kybella because it takes much time and several treatments to really appreciate and see the final results. Improvement can be variable between patients. If you want more immediate results with less discomfort and swelling liposuction is a better way to go. There are skin tightening options as well. Good luck
Swelling can be typical after Kybella and can take several weeks to resolve. welling can be improved with venus legacy and lymphatic massage. It can take 6-8 weeks to start to see results with Kybella. To improve Kybella results, I recommend a combination approach with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is an alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
The general consensus is that post-treatment swelling and redness is the worst after the first Kybella treatment and gets better during the later treatments, assuming the quantity injected is the same. This may be because there is less fat to dissolve with each subsequent treatment. In other words, your recovery should not be worse than the first treatment.. but there are always exceptions to the rule! Hope this helps!
I would expect your experience with the second treatment to be very similar to the first treatment. I typically recommend patients wait 6-8 weeks- 4 weeks is the minimum- in between treatments. We do find with each treatment the swelling can be less severe than the time before. Each time you are treating there is less fat to the area.
Every patient is unique but, in general, I find that most patients experience slightly less swelling with each subsequent treatment. The less fat that there is to dissolve, the less swelling.
Thanks for the great question. My patients tell me the second treatment is much easier then the first, with significantly less swelling, numbness and tenderness. Hope your second treatment goes well.
Swelling is normal and variable after each treatment. Per Allergan recommendations, we counsel patients that following injection they may resemble "a pelican swallowing a fish." That is worst case scenario, but if you prepare for the worst, you can adjust your schedule (and wardrobe) accordingly. We also aggressively ice patients post treatment and have found that to ease the degree of swelling.
Thank you for your question. While I can't make exact recommendations without assessing you in-person, generally speaking I find that most patients experience similar or slightly less swelling with subsequent Kybella treatments. Also, while many injectors were initially trained to inject Kybella every 4 weeks, I find that results from each Kybella treatment actually continue to improve for much longer - I now recommend that my patients wait 10-12 weeks between each treatment so we can see the full results of each session. I hope this helps!
The swelling from Kybella after the second treatment is usually a little less than the first, but occasionally I've seen it be a little worse.
I am so sorry that you have had a less than ideal result. Without seeing you in person, hard to say what's going on. It could be that you had loose skin and/or muscle in the neck before Kybella which is now more prominent. I would suggest that you seek a second in person opinion from a board...
Without examining you in person, it is literally impossible to predict what is causing the lump. If the Kybella improved the condition then it is possible that another treatment will eliminate this lump as well, but you would need to speak with your injector about this. Obviously, using Kybella...
Thank you for your great question. In our clinic, we typically use at least 2 vials of kybella per treatment. We have found that initially treating with this dose yields better results for our patients. In our area, kybella runs about $600-650 per vial. Some clinics will discount the a...
