I’m a 41 year old, athletic mom of 2. I am scheduled for breast lift surgery in 3 weeks and I am extremely torn about whether or not to couple the procedure with a small, modest augmentation. A low profile low cc implant - between 200cc-233 max. I am 95% on the lift only because implants worry me. These are my current breasts. The main goal is skin removal, areola reduction and perkier. Will I achieve a smaller, tighter, feminine look without implants?

Answer: Breast lift Dear Nervousforsurgery, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Lift Yes, with just a lift, you will be smaller, tighter, and raised. If you are happy with your size or don't mind being a little smaller, then just go with the lift. Removing the excess skin will make you somewhat smaller even though breast tissue is removed. If you would like to be the same size or a little bigger, then add implants. The size you are considering would increase you up to a cup.
