Do I need to wear a binder after scar revision from a TTw/MR? Would not wearing one impact the end result?

It really depends on the extent of the revision. I would ask
your surgeon because they are the only one who will know the extent of the
procedure done. A binder will serve to give you support so it is helpful. How long you will need it is really up to your surgeon. 

Thanks for your question.Each plastic surgeon has different surgical and post-surgical protocols.Since your plastic surgeon has performed the surgery on you and knows the specifics of your procedure, you should ask for his/her post-op recommendation.If the surgery was a minor scar revision, I would not ask my patients to wear the binder.Best regards.

Hello and thank you for your question!I would recommend wearing a compression garment for extra comfort and support to that area, especially since this is due to a complication of the initial procedure. Have you consulted with your surgeon about this? Your surgeon should be able to direct you to do what's best for your specific case.Good luck this time!

The binder used after TT serves to functions1)to make sure that your muscle repair is held together while it heals;2)as compression to the soft tissues so you don't get what we doctors call a hematoma or seroma (these are fluid collections that will prevent you from healing optimally.For the second reason, you may want to wear a binder at least for a short period of time, especially if there was any dissection.

Every surgeon has their own post operative instructions.  I recommend my patients wear the binder for support.
