I have had a total of 6 abdominal surgeries, 3 C-sections, tubal reversal (total of 15 Staples with the reversal), hernia removal, and a hysterectomy that was supposed to be laparoscopic but I had too much scar tissue and the Dr.couldn't see with the camera. I ended up with another open incision that left my stomach in bad shape. Now, 2yrs later I start back up with pain only to find out that my only ovary has a cyst that needs to be removed. Can it all be done @ same time & ins. Cover cost
Answer: Tummy tuck Although the treatment for your ovarian cyst should probably be covered by your insurance (you will need to check the specifics of your policy), tummy tuck surgery is considered cosmetic. However, both could be performed at the same time which could possibly save you money in terms of anesthesia and OR costs. Hope this helps and sorry to hear about all of your abdominal travails. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Answer: Can insurance pay for my TT and the removal of a cyst on my ovary? Those two procedures can be performed at the same time. Keep in mind that the cosmetic portion of the surgery- since it is elective- will most likely- not be covered by your insurance. But you can always read your policy.

Answer: TT and ovarian cyst From the description of your surgical past, a tummy tuck could be a great option to help improve abdominal contour. Tummy tucks, however, are not covered by insurance. The treatment for your ovarian cyst should be covered by your insurance policy. Though both procedures can be performed at the same time, the tummy tuck would be considered cosmetic.
