Liposuction of the Mons can be performed under local anesthesia. Depending on the magnitude of redundant skin of the abdomen, a more formal operation such as abdominoplasty would be needed.

I suggest you decide what type of liposuction you want. Etching/ contouring / full body shaping or just small amount of fat reduction. The FUPA is a common area that retains a lot of fat, I suggest VASER as it can give you body shaping and full body contouring. Best, Dr. Emer.

Hello,Without photos or an examination, it would be conjecture.  However, it is likely you would benefit from some sort of liposuction/modified abdominoplasty.  You should see a few surgeons expert in body contouring who are both certified by the ABPS and members of the ASAPS.Best of luck!

Hello Tranquility,Thanks for your question.If you feel that the mons pubis area is truly fatty then VASER liposuction could improve the bulge.  To this, it seems that adding a mini-tummy tuck for removal and tightening of loose lower abdominal wall skin would be beneficial.  This also gives a nice mons pubis lift to tighten the upper vaginal area a bit.Of course, an in-person exam is warranted to help you with your decision making.In my practice, the liposuction and mini-tummy tuck could actually be performed in the office using oral sedation and local anesthesia.  This can keep the costs down while keeping safety high.  A starting cost might be in the range of $4000 for a surgeon's fee.  If you choose to go to sleep you have to add a facility fee and anesthesia fee which vary.I hope this was helpful.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Thank you for your question.  Without a full series of photographs or an in-person examination it is difficult to offer the best treatment recommendations as both your stomach and mons may be candidates for liposuction alone to remove adipose tissue and flatten both areas.  If there is too much skin excess or sagging of skin a better operation may be a tummy tuck to help address both the stomach and mons.  

It's a good question.  Performing liposuction of the mons is a good way to address fullness in the pubic area.  If you have excess skin on your abdomen, then you could consider a tummy tuck, but only an in person examination can determine if he would benefit from a tummy tuck procedure.Seeing a plastic surgeon who performs liposuction and tummy tuck procedures, will help you determine how best to reach your goals.

American Board of Plastic Surgery and discuss your unique situation and
concerns. The surgeon would meet with you, examine you, physically feeling the
tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and
discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure in person and what to
realistically expect. Then you can make an informed decision on which
procedure(s) to start with according to your desires, recovery time necessary,
your history and current health. Liposuction of the Mons Pubis area is much more common than most people know and is a good solution for this problem. The extra skin on your abdomen may make you a tummy tuck candidate but again you need an i consult. The cost of these procedures
varies from practice and location but the cost of not going to a licensed
Facility and Surgeon just to save money can end up costing much more in the
long run. Most important is to pick a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon -
Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. It can be hard and
confusing for consumers when a physician may tell you they are Board Certified.
Make sure it is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery as many Physicians are
certified but it is in another area such as Dermatology, Gynecology, ENT, or
some other specialty that does not have the years of training and Certification
in Plastic Surgery required to be a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
Rather than finding a non-certified surgeon that
may give you better pricing it can be helpful to find a newer Board Certified
Plastic Surgeon that has years of experience in training and surgery-required
to become Board Certified in Plastic Surgery but is newer in practice. They
have the latest up to date training and highest standards as currently set by
the newest technology and are able to pass on to the consumer much better
pricing. Newer highly trained Board Certified Plastic Surgeons often
assist patients with special pricing to make sure the patients are getting the
