Doctors do not know what it is, and are guessing at the treatment. Dermatologist appt. is months away. MetroGel doesn't work Rosiver Cream doesn't work Antibiotic topical does not work Penicillin 3xBid 500mg x 10 days does not work Currently on Tetracycline 3xBid 250mg x 20 days along with Fudicin (cortisone/antibiotic cream) not working.

Did you have anything injected here in this area?  If not, then its prob a variant of rosacea/acne called periorificial dermatitis and needs a combination approach for treatment.  That is IF its been persistent.  Biopsy and culture maybe helpful.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I advise you to visit with your dermatologist.  You may have peri oral dermatitis.   Your doctor will want to ask you about trigger factors and develop a plan. Sorry for your suffering. Hope you feel more skintastic soon

I would consider a biopsy. The differential could include many things:
contact dermatitis, perioral dermatitis, granulomatous rosacea, atypical infections, seborrheic dermatitis, fungal/majocchi's granuloma. I would do a small 3 mm punch biopsy and send to the lab for analysis.I wouldn't wait months to see a dermatologist.

It is hard to tell on the picture but it does not look like their blisters .  Perioral dermatitis  is similar to rosacea but is usually caused by  overuse of topical steroids .  Doxycycline or Minocycline can be used  and it can take several months for this to get better . If there is any further doubt a biopsy can always be done .

Absolutely not rosacea. History would help. Appears to be a viral infection and may be a primary herpes or herpes type II Valtrex should help,stop all the other things as they will do nothing also apply vinegar compresses to dry upL

POD, not rosacea. Good to have swabs to exclude infection but if long term or chronic, its perioral dermatitis. Stop the cortisone and Fucidin cream, rash will worsen.
