If given a choice between Redensity II and Volbella, which one is ideal for the tear troughs and dark circles? I am confused.

I am of south asian( indian) heritage in my mid 30's. I am planning to get fillers under the eyes to treat the treat the slight hollows and dark circles in the tear trough area. Which filller/s is/are ideal for that area of the eyes? I have heard both volbella and Redensity II are good but i am confused as to which one to go for. Please help/guide me.

My preference for fillers under the eyes include Belotero, and Restylane products. Volbella can also work well in certain situations. Though choice of an appropriate filler is important, more important is the skill and knowledge of the injector. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician injector. Best wishes.

These fillers (belotero, volbella, restylane silk) are good for under the eye, but keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

There are SO many fillers out there, and each injector has their "go-to" fillers. Lots of competing companies create somewhat similar products. Make sure your injector is very comfortable with tear trough fillers - as this is one of the most difficult places to put filler. Also, remember that filler only fills volume deficits, not dark hollows. Sometimes you make get an improvement in the dark shadows because the actual shadow is lessened due to the filler being placed. But, if the coloring of the skin has darkened, this will not be improved by the fillers. Hope this helps!
