Hi beauty1989 and thank you for your question. How long you will need to walk slightly bent over following your tummy tuck will depend in large part on how comfortable you are standing upright. In my practice, a majority of my patients are only walking slightly bent over for the first 3-4 days. Some patients will continue to walk slightly flexed at the hips for a little longer but after the first week there is no reason to continue this. Patients are encouraged to walk in this manner initially to reduce tension on their incisions and pull on the internal sutures that bring the abdominal wall muscles closer together at the time of a tummy tuck. Prolonged walking in this bent over manner, however, can actually cause patients more discomfort as it places extra stress on the lower back. I hope this helps!
It all depends on what feels most comfortable to you. Once the tissues relax and they don’t feel as taut, you’ll be able to stand up straight without an issue. It’s important to listen to your body and your surgeon’s advice.
Hello,Thank you for your question. The average timeline for this is 1-2 weeks in my experience. I advise my patients to walk and recline bent at the waist for at least a few days and then gradually straighten as they are comfortable. Each person experiences this process differently depending on the details of their procedure. All the best
Thank you for your question.Typically our patients walk bent over for a week or two. As you heal you will be able to stand straighter. Give your body the time to heal and recover. Any questions or concerns be sure to contact your surgeon. Best of luck!
It usually takes about 1-2 weeks after that you can then start to slowly walk upright as the days go by, congratulations on your procedure!
Thanks for your question. Typically, patients need about a week or two until they are standing up straight. However, that depends upon the individual. Generally, after about five days I recommend that patients stand up as straight as feels comfortable. Each day they can stand up a little more straight as the tissues relax. Best of luck.
Thanks for posting your concerns. I recommend my patients to bend the body for at least 7 to 10 days depend how well they can tolerate the position. Good luck with tour recovery time.
Following a tummy tuck you should walk bending over slightly for at least the first one to two weeks. As swelling subsides and the skin stretches slightly you will be able to stand upright without excessive tension.
Great question and congratulations on your procedure! I recommend that my patients walk in whatever position they find most comfortable. Typically this is a bent over position for the first one to two weeks, but this gets better pretty quickly. Congratulations again.
I find that it takes about a week for my patients to walk completely straight up. Your body will tell you and you will protect it.
It's a great point. Some of my patients find using CBD/THC edible oils to be helpful after tummy tuck procedures. As you know oral CBD/THC can help with pain from surgery, and also nausea that can be caused by narcotic pain medication. I also have found that CBD/THC is not strong enough to el...
Most health insurances have published guidelines for coverage of this procedure, and I suggest you use their website to search or perhaps chat with their representatives. Nevertheless, I suspect that most health insurances will not cover a panniculectomy (which is not necessarily a...
Hello, Thank you for your question. The abdominal incisions that you refer to may be the fleur de lis which involve both vertical and horizontal incisions. This approach is sometimes used in cases of massive weight loss and excess skin. A typical extended Tummy Tuck will create an elongated, ...
