I've had BA for about 6 weeks now and almost always my breasts are hotter to the touch than the rest of body. They are not burning, red, or excessively sore, they are just hotter if I touch. I always wear a bra, could that be why? Everything else about them seems to be healing perfectly.
Answer: Increased Breast Heat Hello,Thank you for your question. While you have inflammation in the area post op, the tissue can feel warmer to the touch because of increased blood flow to the area. This usually resolves before two months. If you feel that you have an ongoing problem or increased pain/discomfort or breast firmness along with the heat then you should see your Plastic Surgeon in person. All the best

Answer: Why are my breasts hotter than the rest of my body? From what you described, this sensation could be perfectly normal, but it would be best to have an in-person evaluation by your plastic surgeon when you are concerned. For more information on this and similar topics, I recommend a plastic surgery Q&A book like "The Scoop On Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts the Myths."

Answer: My breasts are hotter than the rest of my body? Surgery to the breasts definitely increases blood flow during healing which can increase skin temperature. If you are very comfortable without pain, your breast implants are soft and movable and you do not have a fever there is nothing likely serious going on. However if you feel discomfort you should be seen by your plastic surgeon.

Answer: Warm breasts after augmentation My guess is that the warmth that you are describing is due the nerves in your breasts recovering from surgery. They are basically coming back "on line" and this can create a feeling of warmth. However, this should improve. If it doesn't or the warmth is accompanied by pain then see your surgeon. Best of luck.

Answer: Warm after BA Certainly the warmer weather and wearing a bra around the clock could contribute to the sensation of warmth. Also the stretch of the tissue and possibly nerve stretch sensations could give a warm feeling as well. An infection could cause warmth to touch but would have other signs and symptoms. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon but be assured that most likely this sensation of warmth will resolve with time. Best wishes!
