The height of the nipples may raise slightly over time with the settling of the implants. Ideally you should wait at least 6-12 months after your surgery for final result. Good luck.
Thank you for your photo and questions. Yes, your nipples are low and I suspect they started that way. A preop photo would be helpful. It is unlikely that anything will improve with a breast lift so move the nipples/areolas up higher over the implant. Good luck.
Thank you for your question and providing photos. It would be helpful to post a before picture. I tell all my patients it takes 4-5 months for implants to fully settle. As the implant settles into position the nipple areolar complex normally rises up. You cannot predict how much it will rise. Best of luck
Thanks for your inquiry, but without a pre-op picture it is hard to advise. Please ask your surgeon to comment.
Hello,Thank you for your question. At 6 weeks you can expect your implants to drop further still. when this happens, your nipples should appear slightly higher in relation to implant position. All the best
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Based on the severity of your tuberous breast pre-surgery appearance you would have benefited from a breast lift at the same time as your implant placement. The good news is that once your implants have fully settled you can still pursue a breast lift to optimize your breast appearance. Hope this helps.
Obviously, an in person exam, pre operative pictures, and knowing what you and your plastic surgeon discussed prior to surgery would make answering your very reasonable question much easier. That being said, yes, your nipples are too low. At 6 weeks, things will not improve very much. It appears from the pictures you sent that your breasts were constricted breasts, meaning that the inframammary fold was very tight and did not allow the implants to go below the fold. The four possibilities for improvement that come to mind are:1. Switch to smaller implants which would then allow the nipple areolar complex to be higher on the breast mound.2. Once the implants have dropped and fluffed, get a breast lift with probably some decrease in size of the implants.3. Replace your implants with a tissue expanders to stretch out the inferior aspect of your breasts which will allow for a large implant and move the nipples upward.4. Discuss with your plastic surgeon the possibility of doing a perioareolar release and 5 cuts into the tissue attached to the inferior aspect of your breast skin which causes a relaxation of the lowest portion of your breast skin, allowing the implant to drop more and your nipple to move upward.I recommend you talk with your personal plastic surgeon about how he or she views your present dissatisfaction, and what steps will be taken to rectify your downward pointing nipples.
Thank you for your pictures and questions. I am going to hope that prior to surgery, your board certified plastic surgeon discussed with you the need for a breast lift and for whatever reason, you declined that. If he or she did not discuss it with you, then you need to find a new surgeon. If he or she did discuss it with you and you decided to proceed with augmentation only, then this is the expected result. If you are not happy, then you need to go back to them (or an ABPS certified PS) and discuss a lift.Hope this helps!
Dear karina1030,based on your photos, it does look like your nipples are placed low. However, you are still in early stage of recovery so you can expect a change of shape of your breasts. It can take up to 6 months until your implants settle. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. your results are not unexpected. What you need to to is to decide if you're wanting to keep your upper pole fullness as is or would you prefer less fullness? If you like it as is, then start supporting your mounds and you will benefit from a lift. If you would like them less full, talk to your surgeon about maneuvers used to help implants settle more and give it time as they will continue to settle. As they do, the upper pole gets less full, even concave, and our lower breast fills out better. Focus on your implant position and getting it stabilized where you want it as trying to raise an implant later is one of the most challenging things to do.
I am very sorry to hear that you procure ankle so soon after breast augmentation. I would be concerned that G should not be using crutches so soon after breast augmentation. Use of a wheelchair may be your best option. Of course please check with your plastic surgeon and do not rely alone on...
Thank you for your question. No acrylic nails do not need to be removed. Oxygen levels during surgery can be monitored with an ear probe in most modern OR's.
Thank you for your question. I would start with bilateral breast implants with release of constrictions and which will expand both breasts. Hopefully this will be adequate but be prepared that a second operation may be needed to improve symmetry after 6 months. It is important to research a...
