Will using crutches cause any problems two weeks after breast augmentation?

It would be best if you could avoid using crutches for at least a month.  Is it possible for you to use a knee walker?  If not, recommend that you use your hands, not your armpits, to support your weight.   Your plastic surgeon will have recommendations to reduce the risks of damage to your breast augmentation based on the location of your implants, and the procedure he/she used.  Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Crutches are not advisable so soon after breast augmentation. It is safest to ambulate with wheelchair for the moment to avoid injury to the healing areas of your breasts.

Thank you for your question. I cannot recommend that crutches be used in the armpit so soon after surgery. With the luck you're having you might be safer in a wheelchair. 

You may have to use a wheel chair. I also suggest getting family or friends to help you. You should ask your surgeon what his or her recommendations are. I am so sorry to hear about your ankle, but you are correct to worry. I don't think that using crutches is going to be good for your breast augmentation recovery. Call your surgeon's office and discuss. And I guess until then, just try to stay off the crutches as much as possible. Call in friends and family to help you. Best of luck.

Hello and thank you for your question. There is no direct trauma but as you say, there may be pulling effect on the breast tissue. So I would use them only when essential and try and keep the use to a minimum.If any problems, see your surgeon.

I am very sorry to hear that you procure ankle so soon after breast augmentation.  I would be concerned that G should not be using crutches so soon after breast augmentation.  Use of a wheelchair may be your best option.  Of course please check with your plastic surgeon and do not rely alone on Internet advice
