I have a lift/aug in 10 days, Ive had 3 appointments. A virtual consultation, in-person consultation, and my last appointment was to try on sizes. My next appointment is surgery at 630am. I see people talk specifics of over/under muscle, moderate or high profile, ect…. I know nothing. All I know is I liked the 250cc and he only uses smooth round saline, does not use textured or shaped. Is it normal to only know what size you want until day of surgery?
Answer: Surgery No, you should have been given more information. check the paperwork you have to see if more details are present, or go back and ask questions. I always review the preop, intraop, and postop details with all patients, and then again during the preop appointment with take home written instructions discussing all that was discussed.

Answer: Details of implants and placement before Breast augmentation Thank-you for your question. These details are usually discussed at the time of your appointment with your surgeon , especially when you are trying on the sizes. Your surgeon must have made a note of these in your chart and you can request the details on the phone. If not clear you should make another preoperative appointment for having all your concerns addressed. All the best!

Answer: Implant size Dear Brooke2032, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Surgical Details In response to your question, every surgeon approaches consults differently. There are some that go over every aspect of the surgery with their patients, ie over/under the muscle, profiles, implants, etc. On the other hand there are some surgeons that do not get into the fine details of the surgery. Neither method is superior, it just really depends on the surgeon. That being said it is your right to know this information if you so choose and you should reach out and ask your surgeon these questions before your surgery.
