Embarassed. When can i wipe?

Hi.  You should be able to do this.  If leaning forward when standing is too difficult, try wiping while sitting on the toilet, just leaning a little to the side.

I understand your embarrassment. What I don't understand is why you can't perform the function yourself. I would bring this up to your plastic surgeon to see if he can help you figure out a way to take care of yourself.

At this point there should be no problem although might be difficult for you to perform activities of daily living. I reassure you that by doing these movements you are not going to hurt or ruin anything.

It is my pleasure to answer your question. At this time of your post op period you can be able to wipe by yourself. If you have any doubt put in contact with your plastic surgeon and he will orientate you as well.

You can reach to do your personal hygiene and self care at this point without fear that you will cause harm.  If you feel pain or some other symptom when you try, consult with your surgeon to see if there is a problem and for reassurance that you are ok to proceed with increased reaching and stretching.

Any activity you do at this point should not be painful. If you are able to move your body such that you can perform your personal hygiene activities without pain, it is fine at this point. Always make sure to follow your surgeon's advice regarding activity.

I am not sure why you are having this problem.  I have my patients do their own personal hygiene and all have been successful.   You best check with your surgeon and see shy all the problems wiping. This is not the norm!    My Best,  Dr C
