I do not drink regularly, but will be out of town on a mini vacation for a few days prior to having a facelift one week after I return home. I will not be consuming any alcohol for one week prior to surgery, but would like to have a cocktail or two each day while on vacation. What is your recommendation?

Answer: Alcohol consumption and facelifting Thanks for sharing. I tell my patients to stop drinking a week before and after face or neck lifting. Enjoy the vacation before you procedure.

Answer: Cocktails before Facelift? You should not have a problem having cocktails one week prior to your surgery. In general, it is a good idea to avoid alcohol for a couple of days prior to surgery. This can cause dehydration and affect anesthesia. If you have any questions regarding this, you should discuss this with your surgeon in case he or she is a different feeling about this.
