Is a runny nose and sneezing after Juvederm injections normal? 1 day p.o.

I was injected yesterday in my lips and between my upper lip and nose with Juvederm and I instantly started to have a runny nose and sneezing. Today I still have it...is this normal?

This can be typical after lip fillers and is most likely swelling. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results, but this may be superficially placed filler. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!

I recommend following up with your injector for a formal evaluation. Additional hyaluronidase may be needed and you should be treated with topical vasodilators (nitropaste) as prevention. Best, Dr. Emer

Hi Kitteh.  With the location and symmetry, it does not appear to be a bruise or the after effects of a bruise.  More likely to be Melasma.  We use hydroquinone (liquid gel at 8%) and stay away from laser treatments for Melasma as they can make it worse.

This should be fine. Lip filler results will take 1-2 weeks as swelling gradually resolves. HOpe this helps.

Poorly placed filler can drag the lid down and impair corneal surface wetting. If this is the case you will need to have this dissolved. You are quite about being wary of Hyaluronidase. I have seen many complications of this being done with too high concentrations which can irreparably damage...
