Hello,Thank you for your question. Yes, sometimes drainage bypasses the tubing and leaks at the sides. This will happen when the drain is blocked and sometimes when it's not, but fluid output is high. If you feel short of breath or have an elevated temperature you should see your surgeon, otherwise you may be dealing with the normal effects of surgical recovery, medication and fatigue. Let your surgeon know about your concerns so they can advise you,All the best
Dear Reegan, Feeling tired that soon after a major surgery doesn't worry me unless you are having issues with elevated temperature, incision issues, or other symptoms. With that being said I'm assuming your physician is seeing you in post op soon since you're early in recovery. The fluid around the drain is also ok assuming it's not bloody ( I apologize but drainage color and type makes a difference). Since there is more to it that just the info above I would recommend checking in with your doctor/office nurse to review the situation you have. Best of Luck.
Drainage is good, into the drain reservoir and even around the tube. It is cumbersome dealing with the drainage around the tube, but at least it is coming out.Feeling fatigued is a possibility if you have a collection under the skin (seroma)Make sure you take your temperature daily and call your doctor if it elevated.Eat Whole Foods. Stay away from processed foodsDrink water dailyConsider Multivitamins.Make sure you discuss all these things with your Plastic Surgeon.
Sometimes fluid can leak around the tube if the tube is out of the skin or if the hole where the tube is becomes enlarged. Your energy level will be diminished for a while as your body heals.
Hi,Thank you for your question. It is normal to be fatigued for several days after tummy tuck, especially if other procedures such as liposuction or breast surgery have been performed. Drainage from around the tubes is not uncommon. Please reach out to your surgeon for instructions.Good Luck,Beverly Friedlander. MD
Thank you for your question. Many people don’t realize that tummy tuck surgery is a significant procedure that requires a longer recovery time than some other surgeries. Because lifting weights activates your core muscles, you may need to wait a while before you begin light exercising again. I r...
Wow, tummy tuck on its way. This is a great surgery and a sore throat two weeks before surgery should not be a problem. I would check for strep and provide antibiotics which is unlikely but possible. It should simply resolve itself in a few day. If worried, just...
Hello, and thank you for submitting your question. Every patient is different and can handle different levels of pain. I see based on your information that you have endured several surgeries and that now you seem to have a high tolerance to pain. I believe this will be beneficial for you, since...
