Can I laser my areolas so they look smaller?

Question

My left areola is slightly larger than my right. They are very light in color and I was curious if there was a skin lightening laser that could help with my situation. I just want the one to match the other so it isn't as noticeable. I feel like this can be fixed without surgery. Is it possible?

Without a personal examination it is difficult to give the best advice. In general,
Radio Frequency, and laser energy devices as well as chemical peels can tighten the skin and reduce fine wrinkling. Your doctor can council you which is best for your skin type and exam.

HI,While I don't have pictures to see I would state that it is unlikely that a laser will be able to satisfy your needs. The areolar skin is qualitatively different in texture and appearance and this goes beyond just pigmentation. A true fix would be to perform an areolar reduction. This is a fairly easy operation that can be performed under local anesthesia without going to a hospital or surgery center. I hope this helps.All my best,Daniel A. Medalie, MD

Unfortunately, there is no laser that could remove the color/ pigment without leaving a scar which would look worse.
