Can I be on depo shot and still have a bbl procedure? Or should I stop it before surgery?

The risk factors for DVT and PE should be analyzed prior to surgery to determine overall risk.  Usually, the shot can last about 3 months or longer.

Every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Thanks for writing,With any surgery safety is the most important thing. As a general rule hormone therapy in females does increase your risk of clots. That being said, I would check with the MD, presumably your Gynecologist who gave you the injection and counselled you relative to the risks associated with the hormone injection prior to proceeding. A BBL procedure can still generally be performed while on the depo shot.  If you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique.
