I got 4mm Medpor cheek implants but they look WAY too large for my face. They protrude by a lot and look very strange and almost alien-like. The implants are placed on the sides of my face right under my temples, not the front "apple" part. Is it possible I still have swelling and they could eventually look normal? Could I possible have them shaved down to a much smaller height? 4mm doesn't sound like a lot but they really look huge! I'm a 24 year old girl.
Answer: Swelling after Cheek implants--try venus legacy You most likely still have swelling. It can take several weeks for the swelling to go down after your procedure. In the mean time, I recommend contacting your Dr. about after care to improve your results. Venus Legacy treatments may help reduce some of the swelling. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Possible downsizing of cheek implants It is probable that you still have some swelling present 1.5 months after placement of Medpor cheek implants. It can take several months for the swelling to go down. Your existing cheek implants could be shaved down to make them smaller or they could just be removed and replaced with a smaller size. I would recommend waiting at least 3 months after the surgery to get a better idea of your appearance before considering any adjustment though. If your implants are not in the position you would like, I would discuss this issue with your surgeon.

Answer: Cheek Implant Revision At 6 weeks after surgery you are largely near what the cheek augmentation result will look like. A 4mm cheek implant may not sound initially large but that can be deceptive. I would reposition your implants more anteriorly and reduce their size to better fit your face. The sooner you have this done the better.

Answer: 4mm mediocre cheek implants, placed by temples not in front, protrude by a lot and look very strange and almost alien. Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front, not off to the sides of the cheeks. When the front portions of the cheeks are properly augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face. Your cheek implants appear to placed towards the outsides of the cheeks and face. Placing the cheek implants in that location, in my humble opinion, tends to make the face appear broad and wide. Medpore becomes integrated into the bone in as early as 1 month. This fact, combined with the shape of these implants precludes their use in my Cheek Augmentation cases. I prefer placing silastic cheek implants (comet shaped) along the front portions of the cheeks to make the face more naturally, feminine and attractive. Hope this helps.
