7 days P.O. breast lift and intense itching/burning, what can I do? (Photos)

Question

I’m 7 days post op and my incisions are itching like crazy, steri-strips around the areola have been removed and that’s where it itches/burns the most (the ones underneath still on). No signs of infection but in a lot of discomfort. Took Benadryl in pill form and no help. What else can I do??

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing intense itching following your surgery. It is not uncommon to experience such after breast augmentation surgery. However, it would be best that you visit your plastic surgeon for proper assessment and intervention to lessen your discomfort, as every surgeon has different approaches in post operative care management.

Beyond suggesting taking benadryl (which you've already done) it'd be difficult to advise you without examining you. You may need a mild steroid cream or a prescription strength anti-itch medication but without seeing you in person its impossible to know. I'd suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined. Great question and common in some cases.
It looks like you are healing just fine. The distension of the tissues can cause the itching and burning feeling you are experiencing along with dryness of the skin.
Please hydrate your skin using the healing ointment your surgeon recommends.
