Hello,I am sorry you have developed this problem.  Leaving a seroma around a breast implant will increase the risk of infection regardless of antibiotics, and will essentially insure that you develop capsular contracture. Although in office aspiration of the seroma is possible, the risk of implant injury is significant. I recommend strongly that you revisit your surgeon as soon as possible and have him arrange an ultrasonic guided aspiration of the seroma in a radiology center. Unfortunately, this seroma may recur again after the aspiration, and if that happens, it warrants the placement of a drain.  I hope this problem resolves quickly and completely.

I generally don't recommend ice for breast patients as the implant is so far from the skin surface it does little good nor is it helpful after the point of maximum swelling, after the first 3 days.Discuss this with your surgeon and follow his directions!#iceaftersurgery#breastaugmentation#BA

A seroma developing after breast augmentation will require either blunt needle aspiration under a local anesthetic or operative drainage in a surgery suite. There is a high risk of capsule or contracture with untreated seromas.

Your suggestion is a good one and I would run it by my surgeon and see why he did not suggest itDr Corbin
