It is difficult to tell from your photos, but if the bulge is fat, then liposuction only (no skin excision) will suffice. However, if there is muscle stretching, then we are looking at another tightening . . . Thank you.

A mini TT involves removal of a small amount of skin and fat below the belly button that addresses only the lower portion of the abdomen. No plication or muscle tightening is performed and belly button remains attached and unchanged. This procedure applies to very few patients and is appropriate only for patients who have loose skin at the inferior aspect, or bottom, of the abdomen. If patients have loose skin above the belly button or muscle laxity, a short scar would be more appropriate.

It is hard to say without an in person consultation. However, based on your pictures you may benefit from having liposuction of your lower abdomen and flanks.

Which operation is most appropriate for you (mini tummy tuck vs. revision standard tummy tuck) depends on where the excess skin is (below the belly button only or above and below the belly button). Muscle laxity is another important detail. If you had a prior rectus plication, then it is critical to know if it is still intact. If the muscles have spread apart again, then it is important to know where and by how much to plan the repair.

Your upper abdomen looks good so a mini tuck should work well for you. If you have excess upper abdomen fat, then add liposuction there. Do have all the children you want before doing any more tucks.

If you have muscle separation in the upper abdomen a standard tummy tuck may be needed to address it. A mini tummy tuck will take care of any muscle separation of the lower abdomen and any subcutaneous fat and excess skin.
