I am trying to determine which is the best way to help reduce acne scarring. I am interested in doing microdermabrasion since it is more affordable but would rather invest in laser procedure if microdermabrasion is more of a temporary fix. Does microdermabrasion actually help in the long run or is it just a temporary fix? If so, which laser resurfacing procedure do you recommend?

Answer: Microdermabrasion and Acne Scarring Thank you for your question. We have found with experience that PRP with microneedling has been the best treatment for acne and acne scars. Combination treatments with laser skin resurfacing is also very effective. Talk to an expert to see what they recommend for your skin type and follow the recommended treatment protocol for best results. Microdermabrasion would be a waste of money for more serious skin conditions. We hope this answered your question! Good luck!

Answer: Microdermabrasion and scarring Thanks for your question. You aren't going to get the results you are looking for with microdermabrasion, but it is a great treatment for cleaning out the pores and giving a bit of a glow for a few days. Microneedling and laser resurfacing are much better use of your money for improving acne scarring and stimulating collagen. Make sure your dermatologist has helped you clear up any active acne and their laser technician or aestheticians are the best in the area. If you have skin of a darker type, be very cautious with laser treatment to avoid post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Microneedling if often a safer avenue for darker skin types. Good luck and see an expert.
