Hi all. I had my lips topped off yesterday morning. How long should I be avoiding a hot shower? Also, are there any tips to help with swelling? I'm much more swollen this time than ever before! Thanks!

A quick straightforward shower will not affect the results of your lip fillers. It is normal to have different degrees of swelling and different degrees of bruising with fillers (even when using the same product and administered by the same PS). This can vary for a number of reasons.

your question NYCosmetic1233. Fillers are used to restore lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. I recommend that my patients avoid heat for 24 hours after a treatment. This includes hot showers or baths. Swelling is normal for 2 weeks after a treatment. I recommend that my patients apply cold compresses such as ice packs and to sleep with an extra pillow under the head if possible to reduce swelling.Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations.  Good luck!
