Lip asymmetry correction, is there a way to fix this problem? (Photos)

Question

I have the same problem that is shown in upper portion of this picture,know the bottom picture the the Botox correction of her asymmetry. My question, is there a surgical, perminate way fixing something like this

Hi and thank you for sharing your question! It would be best to see pictures of your own lips to be able to give a more precise answer, but in general, while no face is 100% symmetrical, most lip asymmetries are best corrected with hyaluronic acid filler injections. The treatment is quick with instant results and can always with revised or adjusted later for best results. This is a great advantage over surgical treatments and implants. You would get a nice improvement with lip fillers. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO Nova threads can also be used to improve shape and provide lift. Fat or implants are a permanent alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. jaymalik.   I recommend correction with a filler like Juvederm Ultra plus by an experienced injector very conservatively because over correction will cause another asymmetry. If you like the result, then you can consider fat transfer for a longer lasting result. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with lots of experience treating lips. Good luck!

Thank you for your question. It is difficult to give you advice without seeing a photo of your own lips. However, hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are a great way to help improve volume and symmetry of the lips and typically results last between 6-9 months. As HA fillers are not permanent you can have them dissolved with hyaluronidase if unhappy with the results. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

The best fix for lip asymmetry due to vermilion height differences is a vermilion advancement. It is both precise in its correction and permanent. It can be performed under local anesthesia in the office setting.

Hi, I have performed many lip augmentation procedures using dermal fillers or lip implants for over 30 years.  When the lips are asymmetric (some section(s) of the lip(s) are smaller or thinner than others), dermal fillers can be used to precisely shape and augment the lip(s).   Following my beauty principles, the upper lip should be approximately 75 % the size of the lower lip for the lips to appear balanced. The lips can be augmented using a dermal filler or a Permalip implant.
Dermal filers and lip implants offer a much more reliable volume for augmentation of the lips than permanent fillers or fat injections which are associated with increased, unwanted, side effects.
