This is normal. As the stitches dissolve, the mucosa can appear white or pink. Its not out of the ordinary. Things to look out for would be an increase in swelling and pain after a few days i.e. once things are improving, all of a sudden you develop these symptoms. That being said, if you have any questions, its always a good idea to contact your operating surgeon as they know what stitches were used, and what your post operative regimen is. Best of luck!
