I am only 33 and have deep wrinkles on my knuckles and fingers. For the last year I have been doing this new gel treatment on my nails instead of acrylics so my hands are under the UV light for a very long time. I recently noticed my hands and I will no longer have this treatment done. I am not certain this is the whole reason for the wrinkles but it is definitely contributing. What are my best options? Laser, fat transfer or fillers? Please help this is really bothering me!

Answer: Treating the hands As you have rightly suggested, it is likely that UV lights will have affected the condition of the skin on your hands, and I would certainly recommend you decrease/ ideally stop. I would also suggest you use a sun screen on your hands to ensure that you protect your skin. With fat transfer, some of the tissue is living, and as such won’t survive the transfer, additionally, repeated treatments are sometimes needed to get a smooth result. At our clinic we use Ellanse dermal filler to treat the hands with tremendous success. Ellanse stimulates the body to create collagen after the initial filling gel has been absorbed by the body. In this way, the effects of the treatment are extremely natural looking and can last up to 2 years. Because your own collagen is being stimulated this also improves the quality and texture of the skin making it more supple.
