Hi Alisa,Syringomas are basically benign overgrowths of the tiny sweat glands under and around your eyes vs xanthalasmas which are whitish, rubbery collections of cholesterol in the peri-ocular skin. Sometimes they look similar enough that it's hard to tell which one is which. The treatment is pretty much the same though- we carefully and precisely vaporize them, one at a time, with a Super or Ultrapulse CO2 laser with a small spot size. Then sometimes we "resurface" the surrounding skin of the cosmetic unit of the eye area, to blend the result with a light fractional CO2 or Erbium-YAG laser. You can have this done in the office where they will clean and inject numbing into the affected skin, apply stainless steel eye protection and set up a sterile field. You do not need to be asleep for this, but you will probably want someone to drive you home until the local anesthetic wears off.Afterwards you will care for the area with gentle washes and antibiotic or semi-occlusive ointment until everything skins over and fills in. There will be redness, at least of the deeper areas that are healing in, for several weeks or months that you will protect with a good sunscreen, until the color and texture are back to normal. Don't let these areas scab, so no pitting can form! Please be patient. This takes time. You can cover the redness with a lavender, yellow or green tinted makeup, depending on your base skin color, so it will look fine as it heals. The cost for this service depends on how much there is to do, what the doctor's overhead is etc. It is considered a cosmetic service, so rarely covered by any insurance. The cost is likely in the $250-1500 range-again depending on what needs to be done to remove the offensive lesions and blend the removal sites into the surrounding tissue (if needed) vs full face, medium depth resurfacing which is in the $3-6,000 range and a much bigger dealHope that clarifies some of the issues and helps you move ahead.Wishing you the best!Z

Yes, you can combine these treatments and we do so quite often and effectively. The CO2 laser is remarkable at reducing the appearance of scars and the RF microneedling is great for improving textural issues. To top it off, the channels the microneedling RF creates in the skin allows the PRP to...
