From the photos you have sent you do seem to be experiencing diffuse thinning. However, finding the cause, or trigger, of DUPA requires a thorough history and examination and will enable appropriate treatment. Patient education is key in the management of diffuse hair loss.
The assessment of the donor area is required. a special diagnostic in person will help to define the type of your baldness.
Hello and thank you fo your question. As other doctors have stated you need to be seen in person to have some testing done. Have you done so? I’m just wondering what the outcome was for you? I wish you the best.
To properly assess the donor area qualities it would be required to assess in person. Under magnification to judge the follicular unit density the hair count and the percentage of hair miniaturization.
As before answers, for a complete assessment a personal diagnosis will be required. Your hair characteristics appear to be, straight fine hair shaft with a relatively high skin complexion to hair colour contrast. Your follicular unit hair density can be measure using magnification. Along with an approximation of the average hair count per FU. Whether this shows DUPA or simply a lower than average density a test would tell.
The number one first step I recommend is a comprehensive consultation with a hair regrowth specialist who will perform lab tests to determine the underlying cause of your thinning. Without labs, no-one can really know what your true cause is and any treatment will be temporary at best. From here, you can receive the best treatment for your case. It is also worth noting that any medicine that actually can make changes inside your body, are required under the FDA to be available by prescription only. This therefore means that it is not possible for anything that does not require a prescription to cure or prevent hair loss or regrow thinning hair. Thus, a personalized medicine will be the best choice because instead of a "one size fits all" approach, you will be taking something which is truly catered to your body's needs. The treatment is out there. Good luck on your search.
It would appear you have a component of diffuse androgenetic type hair loss. See an expert to confirm.
Your donor area (back and sides of head) does look thin, though you don't show the back that well. To diagnose diffuse unpatterned hair loss you'll need to be examined under magnification to see if you have miniaturized hairs in the donor area. Diffuse unpatterned loss can coexist with patterned hair loss.
To diagnose someone with DUPA, a magnified test needs to be done. You do have patterned hairloss, but you cam still have both too.
To make the diagnosis of DUPA, you need to have a hand or video microscopic assessment of the donor area looking for miniaturization
