If I go a few years back, I could have never thought of having a Hair Transplant (HT) done despite my slowly receding hairline in the span of 5-6 years. The reason was I thought that HT was a gimmick or it was something that cannot be done to give a natural look. Maybe because I had never come across anybody in my friends/ family who ever got HT done. In the beginning of 2021, my receding hairline reached a stage that it could no longer be hidden by styling my hair differently and my frontal scalp was visible from both sides as if I was a 40-year-old person.

I never thought of getting a Hair Transplant done. However, one day a friend of mine told me about Medlinks that it is a great HT clinic where he would get his HT done from in future. After going through the before-after result pics/ videos on their Instagram page, I realised that HT is not a gimmick for sure and the only thing we should care about is getting an HT done from a doctor who has skilled hands. And Medlinks seem to have the expertise to meet my expectations that I had for my hair/ hairline. Therefore, I booked an appointment with Medlinks to know more about HT and to my surprise I was extremely satisfied with the explanation and the assurance they gave me. They have very understanding counsellors (Ms Nabeela in my case) who answered each and every query that came across my mind without forcing me to get the HT done asap. Also, I met the head doctor: "Dr Gaurang" before the HT and he also cleared all my biological doubts related to HT. Both the doctor and the counsellors asked me to take my time, do my research and then go ahead with it and it was at this time I had an intuition that the doctor is being truthful. I was very happy with the fact that they did not consider me as a money-making customer of their business model since they did not force me to proceed further. In fact I felt that I was being helped by them as HT results were their passion and not my money - in this world of selfish people who want to extort money from their customers.

To tell you more about Dr. Gaurang Krishna, he is the most humble doctor that I have ever met. After meeting him only once I realised that he is genuinely passionate about his work. I believe he wants his Hair Transplant Results to speak for his excellence rather than his words, and the results sure do. Now, after getting the Hair Transplant done from him, I can vouch for this.

After this meeting, one thing was sure that I was not going anywhere else to get my HT done. I thought if I would get my HT done it would be from Medlinks only or nowhere else. And this is a compliment for Medlinks and Dr Gaurang that I did not go to any other clinic to research/ to know more about HT and other clinics in their competition. In just one meeting I was sure that I will go with Medlinks for my HT. Dr Gaurang and the counselor explained the plan for my HT and also explained what I would go through whilst and after the HT surgery. They also clearly told me about the care instructions that I would need to take for the first few days after the HT. So, I booked and got my HT done on 6th April 2021.

Before the HT procedure started, my counselor explained the care instructions and Do's/ Dont's that I should be following for the 1st week after the HT. Then, Dr Gaurang drew a rough hairline that suited my face and proceeded further only when I was satisfied with the hairline. I was taken to the HT room and the procedure started. The Hair Transplant experience was very non-painful for me. There is a myth that HT is painful but this myth got broken as the first 15-20 minutes of my HT passed. I would not say that it was completely painless and I did not feel anything. Sure, there was discomfort for the first 15 minutes but it was only while the Anesthesia was being injected into my scalp. And I would rate the pain/ discomfort 2/10 as it was just like an ant biting me for 15 minutes which was bearable for me. After this, my scalp got numb and I could not feel/ sense anything happening on my scalp.

My HT surgery went on for 6.5 hours. Dr Gaurang and his team took great care of me during the whole procedure. The whole team regularly kept asking me if I was ok after short intervals. They did not hurry with anything, whereas they smoothly went on with the procedure. They were so gentle that I actually slept for 20-30 minutes during the procedure. After the completion they gave me a small meal so that I can get some energy. Then, a technician took me to the room where my cousin was waiting for me. They gave surgical caps to wear over my head and then I left from there. The counselor was very active and answered all my questions/ doubts that I asked after a few days of the HT. Then, I had to revisit the clinic after 3 and 6 months for the PRP sessions. In these 6 months, everything went on smoothly and just like they explained to me it would.

I was expecting that I would also start to see my results after 8-9 months just like other people. But to my absolute surprise, I got 65%-75% results in just 5-6 months and my after-results photos that I have attached are of <6.5 months. I believe this happened because I really worked hard to take care of my hair after the HT. I took a good diet which included protein/ Omega-3/6 Fatty Acids/ necessary nutrients, I oiled my hair with a good hair oil frequently and followed the care instructions that the doctor gave. I am writing this review after 7 months of the HT and I can feel small hair still sprouting out of my scalp which would make my hair even denser when they grow fully.

Conclusion:

I was skeptical about the results before talking to Medlinks about Hair Transplant and today the skilled hands of Dr Gaurang gave me amazing dense hair on my empty scalp. I am extremely satisfied with the results and to me this was the best decision of my life.

The most important thing that I would tell you to make sure that you get good HT results is to only get HT done from a skilled Doctor who has given great hair transplant results in the past. Because I have seen Hair Transplant failing when done by unskilled doctors/ technicians as they made some sort of mistake while plantation of the hair grafts which did not make the hair roots get the blood supply and eventually dying in the scalp which will worsen the situation instead of making it better. Also, it is about our body and when a surgery is involved we should never take a risk by choosing a less skilled doctor.

The extraction of the hair grafts and their plantation should be correct & appropriate so that they can get proper blood supply to grow which only a skilled doctor can do. As a successful Hair Transplant result patient of Medlinks today, I verify that Medlinks is genuinely skilled in extracting and planting the hair grafts so that the hair can grow the way they should. And I would recommend Medlinks and Dr Gaurang for Hair Transplant as they know what they are doing and have apparently pioneered HT. I had my transplant done on 8th November 2019. It all started in 3rd year of college when i started noticing hair loss. I had done a previous procedure before in Cairo- Egypt, back in October 2017, but it wasn’t that good at all. The doctor’s knowledge turned out a bluff, I had numerous inflammations right after the procedure, he prescribed a totally irrelevant medications, and was there for only 15mins out of the 10 hours procedure. I lost almost ¾ of my transplanted hair to that procedure.
