My nose has always been a problem area since middle school. I remember getting bullied for it and now that I have the money I want it done. Have provided pics of me with makeup and without. And also pics of wht an ideal nose of mine would be. Is that even possible? Also from the side the bridge is very protruding and i Have a slight nasal bump. I want a tiny delicate short upturned nose.
Answer: Seems like it should be possible to me. Mostly, your bridge and tip are strong and wide. More advice ... The two cartilages that form the tip of your nose are strong, and make the tip look wide. The parts of the nose above the tip also look wide and could be narrowed. The woman in the short video that I posted with this answer had the tip of her nose narrowed in her rhinoplasty. I'd love for you to see some excellent professionally-designed morphs of what could possibly be done with your nose. Morphs could also help you identify what's bothering you, and help you set a goal for the rhinoplasty that's accurate for your tastes. Profile and three-quarter views would be particularly important in morphing your nose. (Side note: in my opinion, morphs should always be done by the surgeon, or he should direct an assistant as she makes the morphs. Morphs should be made with a constant eye to what actually *can* be done in surgery, for that particular nose, and only the surgeon has that information and judgment.) Remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, requiring skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. For most noses, it's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Read my essay on how to stay out of trouble while selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. And for those who have had previous surgery, it also discusses how to tell whether your first surgeon should be performing your revision. Your nose is also a perfect example of why computer imaging is mandatory in rhinoplasty. You need to know exactly what the surgeon is planning to accomplish -- what features he thinks he can change, and by how much he thinks he can change them. I always email morphs to my online rhinoplasty consultations. When you see the surgeon's goals in the morphs, you'll know whether he has an eye for an attractive nose, and whether he shares your opinion of what constitutes an attractive nose. You'll also know whether the changes he proposes are large enough to be meaningful to you, and whether he understands your wishes enough to address all of your priorities. How would you ever get that figured out without the morphs?

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello, and thank you for your question. Before I begin, more photographs (such as a side profile shot) would be very helpful in order to receive a well-rounded, personalized response. Rhinoplasty requires exceptional skill on behalf of the surgeon and great communication with the patient about realistic goals and expectations. Common cosmetic concerns include a dorsal hump, wide nose, sunken nose, irregularities, and asymmetries. Functional concerns include difficulty breathing through the nose, which can and should be addressed at the same time as your rhinoplasty. Make sure to seek out the care of a board certified surgeon with extensive experience in rhinoplasty. Find someone you connect with, who will listen to your concerns and provide you with a framework for what is possible. You might benefit from tip defining procedures using either cartilage grafting or suturing techniques that would harmonize your nose and create a more natural, elegant look. Also, a dorsal hump reduction could also help you to achieve your desired look. Gary Linkov, MD Rhinoplasty Specialist Manhattan

Answer: Closed and Atraumatic Technique in Rhinoplasty Hello,Thank you for your question. Based on your limited photos you may benefit from the tip refining with uplifting for a more feminine look. Tip plasty is the most difficult aspect of rhinoplasty. I have developed my own technique which is called as ST Flap Technique to eliminate the tip bulbosity with not only protect the anatomy but also support it. ST Flap Technique, is a scroll based cartilaginous island flap which is aimed to transpose the cephalic trimming material over the body of the lower lateral cruras to resupport, reshape and protect the whole anatomy. This technique is the only technique can protect the Vertical and Horizontal Scroll Ligament at the same time. A beautiful and natural looking nose, that suits your face can be achieved by the help of the Closed and Atraumatic technique in Rhinoplasty, which minimizes swelling and bruises, maximizes healing, prevents tissue damage and eliminates a scar on the columella. Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs and goal pictures, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty, a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly, and a dorsal hump reduction. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
